Six Invincibles (or 5+1) left as four crumble in January

January has taken its toll on our ten teams that managed to get from the beginning of the season to the end of 2007 without a League defeat. Eastborough Borough lasted one day, then Crowborough Athletic left the party on the 8th January. New Mills fared little better and Enfield succumbed on the 26th January to the might of Concord Rangers. However, the team that everyone expects to go is hanging in there - of course, this is the lamentable Dorking Wanderers. They are the '+1' in our headline. They have only played 13 games of which 6 have unimpressively been drawn - and, what's more, despite coming from Surrey play in the Sussex County Division 3. Compare this to superteams, such as Daventry Town (17 wins and 1 draw) and Budleigh Salterton (15 wins and 1 draw) and you can understand FootballCynic's seemingly harsh views. The other three still unbeaten are Norton Sports, Chalfont Sports and Almondsbury Town. Daventry Town are our high fliers scoring 96.3% of the possible points on offer (compared to Dorking Town's 69.2%) - yet the boys from Daventry are not keen to blow their own trumpet, as there web presence is as poor as Dorking's record. More news soon, of course!
