Games of three halves rumour
FA supremo, Richard Scudamore, hotly denied that a 39th game of three halves was being considered by the Premier League. However, rumours are rife that a 39th game is being considered in African villages with the third period being played 'across the pitch'. The logistics of moving the goal posts after two periods to the usual sides of the pitch is being looked at by a research team. It is planned that each player would plant a tree after the game to reduce the carbon footprint of football. One insider joked 'they are moving the goal posts all the time anyway'. Richard Scudamore was unavailable for comment as he left the 19th green of his local golf course yesterday. Paul Jewell, Manager of Derby County, said that he was too busy to think about a 39th game at this stage. We kinda see what you mean, Paul.
