Sparser at Brache Sparta
The seemingly magical mix of football, Luton and Russia has not ignited the imaginations of supporters of Brache Sparta this season. For, it is Brache Sparta that have the ignominy of attracting the lowest crowds in the Football League Pyramid. The 2007-8 season saw a 58.7% drop in attendances at Brache Sparta, giving them an average of just 7 with a low of 1 and all season high of 12. They are 981 places below the mighty Manchester United with an average attendance of 75,684 less than the Champions.
Brache Sparta are named after a district of Luton and the name of a fashionable Russian side at the time they were formed in 1960. It's a poor turnout for a team that claim to be 5 times past winners of the William Pease Trophy as well as the Beds Senior Trophy just 6 years ago. But this season must seem a long way off from the time over 300 people packed into to see Wisbech Town in the FA Vase 3rd round ten years ago. We wish Brache Sparta more success next season and a 100% increase in attendances.
