Don't go west, young man
Local rivalries are one thing but when you look at the Division 3 (I mean Division 1) table, you can help noticing that the Westerners are having a tough time of it. The bottom three are Hereford United, Cheltenham Town and Yeovil Town. As you look up the table and pass by the likes of Crewe Alexandra and Leyton Orient, you do not have to go far before you find Bristol Rovers and Swindon Town. There's little regional clustering elsewhere, although followers of the Blue Square Conference will find the Midland teams are in the play off spots (time for a letter from irate of Cambridge telling us that Cambridge is not in the Midlands). Maybe, this is due to the fact that the whole division seems to be comprised of Midlands teams coming from towns that you never quite get round to visiting.
