The Four Tops

Rumours abound that the fourth Champions League spot will be subject to a play off. An FA spokesman has exclusively told FootballCynic.com that a new play off system will take place involving the fourth placed teams in each division. On current placings, this would mean that Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City, Charlton Athletic and Chesterfield would contest the fourth European spot. The FA believe that the change will create more interest across the country. It has been revealed that a previous to plan to allow the four worst teams in the country to compete was against the spirit of a Champions League even though "it would be nice for the fans".
