Brandon United will be hoping that their fortunes change next Saturday as they await their next fixture at Morpeth Town. Brandon United are anchored at the foot of the Northern League Division 2 without a point from their first ten games. At home, they have suffered six narrow defeats, but on the road have had four heavier defeats. This week they travel north of Newcastle to face The Highwaymen at Craik Park, who have only gained one point from ten games – a draw at home to Team Northumbria. Their long journey north up the A167 and A1 takes them through the village of Pity Me, but Brandon United do not want pity as their ‘improved performances’ put them in good heart for the six-pointer. Whilst the Brandon United website claims to be ‘Developing football with the commuity (sic)’, the neatest feature on the website is the ability to sort results by wins, draws and losses. Perhaps, after Saturday visit to Craik Park, there will be some re-ordering when you click on the sort button. If they win, there is sure to be a good craic afterwards.
